My three bedroom house required a full modernisation which included every surface being plastered, all new windows and doors, a new bathroom, new kitchen, new boiler and central heating system, electrics and resurfacing of the driveway and paths. There is no shortage of ‘horror stories’ from clients of builders and I was not looking forward to working with a one, especially on such a major and expensive project. In an attempt to mitigate against issues, I narrowed my selection down to those who were registered with ‘Trustmark’, which is the only government endorsed scheme for trades in and around the home. I contacted three builders, one of whom didn’t call me back as agreed, another with whom I didn’t feel a rapport with or have confidence in and Giraffe. From the outset, Giraffe always delivered on their promises and from the very first meeting with the surveyor, I felt confidence in them and that they listened to what I wanted. The quote for the full work was in line with what I expected for market value and was itemised and easy to understand. Following acceptance of the quote, work started on the day agreed and the project manager Mick kept me informed on a regular basis in plain language of progress throughout the project. On the odd occasion when I visited my property and work was ongoing, all of the workmen were very courteous, pleasant to talk to and clearly passionate about delivering a solid and professional job. When I arrived home at the end of every working day, all tools and consumables were tidied away, floors swept and they clearly worked in an orderly and tidy way. Based upon the initial work undertaken, I commissioned Giraffe to do a number of additional pieces of work to the property and I can only say that I am delighted with the end product. I have a completely transformed house, both inside and out. Without exception, all of the Giraffe team have been welcoming, approachable and friendly throughout with special mentions to David for the kitchen design, Emma for the clear admin and payment staging’s and Mick as above for the very clear and regular communications and advice. Although behind these people, there are many, many more, who have all been fantastic. From the initial thought of dreading the building experience, I can only say that working with Giraffe has been a delight and I wholeheartedly recommend them. They work and provide a service at a level that all builders should aspire to.
I used Giraffe recently to renovate my kitchen including fitting a new pitched roof. Despite lots of unexpected issues along the way due to the age of the house and the poor construction of the kitchen originally, they did a great job, really high quality and were very professional to deal with from start to finish. First class company. Highly recommended.
Awesome service from start to finish. We had a full house refurb with new layout, kitchens, bathrooms, electrics, heating - basically the lot.
